Job Description

The hiring organization for this position is a reputable and rapidly growing family-owned company that operates over 60 residential communities nationwide. The company is committed to fostering supportive leadership and providing a beautiful, resort-style living environment for its residents. With a purpose-driven culture, the organization aims to make a positive difference every day by delivering exceptional dining and living experiences within its communities. Their dedication to quality and care is reflected in their scratch-based kitchens, where meals are prepared fresh and tailored to the preferences and dietary needs of each resident.

This Weekend Cook role is crafted for individuals passionate about culinary arts who want to contribute meaningfully during weekends. As a Weekend Cook, you will be responsible for working Saturdays and Sundays, delivering the same high standard of food and service that residents appreciate throughout the week. This is a crucial role that ensures the dining experience remains consistent and enjoyable even during weekend hours.

The Weekend Cook will work within a scratch-based kitchen environment where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared according to scheduled demands. The role involves a range of cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing, ensuring that each dish is not only safe and delicious but visually appealing and properly portioned to meet the residents' preferences. Beyond the culinary responsibilities, the Weekend Cook will also engage with residents, guests, and team members to foster a welcoming and warm atmosphere.

Other responsibilities include maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment by cleaning work areas and equipment, monitoring food safety through temperature checks, keeping the stations well stocked and organized, and completing all assigned opening and closing tasks. The position calls for someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a team, is open to feedback, and actively participates in meetings for continuous improvement.

This employment opportunity offers wonderful perks such as pay on demand, employee discounts, and a supportive leadership structure that nurtures growth and a family-like work culture. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to commit to working full weekend shifts of at least 8 hours per day. A basic ability to read, speak, and understand English is required along with preferred experience in kitchen preparation and cooking. Candidates will also need to obtain the appropriate food handler permits within the first two weeks of employment as mandated by local regulations.

If you have a servant heart and a passion for cooking in a community-focused environment, this role provides the perfect platform to make a difference while honing your culinary skills. The company prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. Those interested are encouraged to apply and join a team that feels like family while providing outstanding dining services in a resort-style community setting.
