Job Description
Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is a rapidly growing restaurant company that began as a small eatery in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Over time, the brand has expanded significantly and now operates over 20 restaurants across the Southeastern United States. The group features two vibrant concepts: Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine, both of which embody the rich culture and spirit of New Orleans. These establishments are renowned for their all-day brunch service that celebrates Southern hospitality with a modern twist.
The company's unique focus on brunch creates an inviting atmosphere for guests looking to enjoy breakfast and lunch dishes inspired by the flavors and traditions of New Orleans. Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences characterized by friendly service, flavorful cuisine, and a lively setting. Employees at Ruby Slipper become members of the "Ruby Krewe," a team dedicated to maintaining these high standards.
This current job opening is for a Ruby Krewe Member who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized, and welcoming dining environment. Unlike many restaurants, Ruby Slipper operates only during breakfast and lunch hours, allowing staff to work daytime shifts and still have evenings free. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who cherish work-life balance and want to be part of a dynamic restaurant team without the late hours typically associated with the industry.
The role centers on table maintenance duties such as clearing used dishware between courses, resetting tables promptly for new guests, and ensuring the dining area remains hygienic and orderly at all times. The candidate will also be responsible for taking dirty dishes to the dish room, sorting and organizing silverware, dishes, and glassware efficiently. Cleanliness and quick turnaround between seatings are critical to the guest experience, making this a high-energy role suited to motivated and detail-oriented individuals.
Additionally, this role includes guest-focused responsibilities such as serving drink refills and monitoring guest needs during their meal. The employee will also conduct regular inspections of assigned restrooms every 30 minutes and perform cleaning as necessary to uphold the restaurant's standards.
No previous restaurant experience is required to join the Ruby Krewe, making this role an accessible entry point into the hospitality industry for enthusiastic and reliable applicants. The company culture emphasizes teamwork, positive attitudes, and a shared love of great food—a place where the simple belief that "butter and bacon make everything better" encapsulates the fun, spirited environment.
As a member of Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group, new hires will benefit from a wide range of employee perks including flexible daytime shifts, medical and dental insurance options, paid time off, and opportunities for growth and pay increases. The company also offers family meals and employee discounts, fostering a supportive community for its staff.
Overall, this position offers a unique chance to work within a growing restaurant group rooted in New Orleans tradition, while enjoying a schedule conducive to a healthy work-life balance and access to valuable benefits. Those who thrive in fast-paced settings and appreciate customer service will find this role fulfilling and rewarding.
