Job Description
This hiring establishment is an outdoor venue that offers a unique and dynamic working environment for dedicated staff members. As a place that caters to guests who enjoy beverages in an open yet covered setting, the venue embraces a lively atmosphere where customer service excellence is paramount. The bars at the venue are situated in covered areas, providing shelter but without air conditioning, so employees must be prepared for weather conditions that range from hot summers to cold winters. This outdoor venue operates various bar stands where employees are responsible for a variety of tasks related to beverage service and cash handling.
The role available is for a responsible and attentive bartender or beverage server who will safely serve alcoholic beverages to guests in strict compliance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) rules and regulations. The position pays 15 dollars per hour plus tips, making it an appealing opportunity for individuals interested in hospitality and customer service. This job is designed to welcome both new entrants to the industry as all necessary training will be provided, meaning no previous experience is required. The venue is committed to ensuring that every employee understands how to provide safe alcohol service, manage transactions correctly, and maintain sanitary and orderly work areas.
As part of this role, the successful candidate will need to check IDs diligently, monitor patrons for any signs of intoxication, and ensure all beverages are served responsibly. Additionally, they will handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately using the cash register system, safeguarding all funds throughout their shift. Inventory duties include stocking and organizing coolers and back stock areas, assisting with inventory counts, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of their working spaces. The job also requires adherence to health and safety protocols, including compliance with city, county, and state COVID-19 regulations, such as mask-wearing and regular surface cleaning.
Physical demands are inherent in this role; employees must be capable of standing for extended periods, walking long distances, bending, stooping, lifting up to 35 pounds, and reaching overhead. Communication skills are essential for effective customer interaction, learning to operate the register and margarita machines, and accurately handling money and sales transactions. Being punctual and following all instructions provided by the stand manager are key competencies required to succeed in this role.
The role offers an engaging opportunity for those who thrive in outdoor settings and enjoy interacting with a diverse clientele. With competitive wages plus tips, the chance to gain experience in alcohol service, and a proactive, team-oriented work environment, this position is ideal for individuals seeking a job in hospitality that offers both learning and earning potential. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be able to hold or obtain the required TABC certification to legally serve alcohol. This position represents a great starting point for anyone wanting to build a career in food and beverage service, hospitality, or event management.
