With a strong presence in Birmingham and Huntsville, Leigh & Co. Events offers comprehensive wedding design, coordination, and planning services that cater to the unique needs and desires of every couple. The company prides itself on its commitment to high-quality service, attention to detail, and personalized approach, making it a trusted name in the wedding industry for clients seeking professionalism fused with creativity and warmth.
This listing is for the position of Lead Wedding Coordinator, a contract role that presents an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to advance their careers in wedding planning. This position is flexible, allowing planners to choose their own schedules, making it ideal for those seeking work-life balance while engaging in meaningful, creative work. The pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour, compensation is project-based, and Leigh & Co. Events provides training to ensure that coordinators are fully prepared to deliver exceptional wedding day services.
The Lead Wedding Coordinator role focuses on serving as the primary planner on wedding days, mainly performing onsite coordination. Coordinators will collaborate closely with assistant coordinators and vendors to execute seamless wedding operations. Responsibilities include creating detailed wedding day timelines, acting as an advocate for the couple to ease their stress, overseeing set up for ceremonies and receptions, and managing the overall day-of event schedule from morning preparations to night tear down. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills as coordinators greet and direct vendors, communicate set-up details, and assist the wedding party and family members with any queries or concerns during the event.
The position entails carefully arranging seating cards, menu cards, table numbers, favors, guest books, and other decor items, ensuring that the couple’s vision is realized. It also requires ensuring the safe and organized collection of gifts, guest books, toasting flutes, and other important items at the end of the event. With its focus on detailed execution and proactive problem-solving, this role offers not only a chance to work in a vibrant, creative industry but also a platform to build valuable skills in event management and customer service.
Candidates must be willing and able to work weekends, as this is crucial to the role’s responsibilities. A background with at least two years of experience in wedding or event planning is required, ensuring a foundation of knowledge and professionalism. Strong communication skills and an eye for detail are essential, along with reliable transportation to travel between venues. The physical demand of the role includes the ability to carry and lift up to 30 pounds, consistent with the setup and coordination needs on wedding days.
Leigh & Co. Events looks forward to welcoming enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Wedding Coordinators to join their team for the 2026 wedding season and beyond. This role is perfect for those passionate about creating memorable experiences and who desire flexibility in their work schedules alongside competitive pay and a supportive work environment.
