The Lead Wedding Coordinator position with Leigh & Co. Events in Birmingham and Huntsville offers an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their career in wedding planning. This contract role provides the flexibility to set your own schedule while contributing to an engaging work environment for the 2026 wedding season and beyond. As a Lead Wedding Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the entire event day execution, providing expert guidance and support to couples, and ensuring vendor and venue coordination runs smoothly. Training is provided, allowing new and experienced planners to acclimate to the company’s operations effectively. Pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour and is compensated on a per-project basis, which means your earnings are directly related to the number of weddings you manage. This role requires physical stamina, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

In this role, you will create detailed wedding timelines tailored to each couple’s unique preferences and ensure all elements of the wedding day are flawlessly coordinated. Your responsibilities include advocating for the couple by keeping them calm and managing any unforeseen issues on the day. You will oversee all ceremony and reception setup, ensuring everything is professionally executed from the morning setup to the tear-down phase at the end of the night. Working alongside assistant coordinators, you will greet and direct all vendors, manage set-up communications, and assist the wedding party with their needs. This leadership role plays a crucial part in delivering an unforgettable wedding experience, requiring dedication, flexibility, and a passion for the wedding industry. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work weekends is essential

Job Duties

  • Create wedding timelines for couples
  • Be an advocate for the couple, keeping them calm under pressure and assisting with any issues that arise throughout the day
  • Oversee ceremony and reception set up
  • Execute all day-of operations for the wedding, which includes being at the venue from the very beginning of the morning through tear down at the end of the night
  • Greet and direct all vendors
  • Communicate with all vendors regarding set ups
  • Set up of seating cards, menu cards, table numbers, favors, guest book and other decor
  • Assist the wedding party and family with any needs, questions or concerns
  • Ensure end of event arrangements are made for gifts, guest book, toasting flutes, etc.
