Leigh & Co. Events is a rapidly expanding wedding planning company operating nationwide across the United States. Known for our dedication to creating memorable and flawlessly executed weddings, we provide a comprehensive suite of services including wedding design, coordination, and planning tailored to the unique vision of each engaged couple. Our company prides itself on delivering exceptional service and professional expertise to help clients navigate the complex planning process with ease and confidence. As a fast-growing enterprise with a strong reputation, Leigh & Co. Events embraces a culture of creativity, flexibility, and client-centered service, making us a trusted partner for couples embarking on their wedding journey.
We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Lead Wedding Coordinators to join our team in Washington, DC, for the 2026 wedding season and beyond. This role offers a contract-based, flexible schedule that empowers planners to choose projects that fit their availability. The Lead Wedding Coordinator position is perfect for those passionate about wedding planning and looking to develop their career in this exciting industry, benefiting from provided training and continuous support.
As a Lead Wedding Coordinator, you will take the lead in providing seamless on-site wedding planning services, working closely with our client experience managers and assistant coordinators. Your role is vital in ensuring that the wedding day runs smoothly from start to finish by managing all aspects of the ceremony and reception according to the couple’s vision and our detailed execution playbook. Responsibilities include attending a final details call approximately six weeks before the wedding to confirm logistics and expectations, facilitating the rehearsal to make sure all key participants are well-prepared, and acting as the primary onsite advocate for the couple.
You will be the central point of contact for vendors, guests, and family members, inspiring confidence through a calm and solutions-oriented presence. Your coordination efforts include overseeing the setup of décor and event elements, directing vendors, assisting with the placement of personal and decorative items, supporting the wedding party, and ensuring the proper handling of all end-of-event items such as gifts and guest books. Flexibility and proactive problem-solving are essential, as you will manage last-minute changes and resolve any issues to maintain a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
This contract role compensates $350 per project, covering 10 to 12 hours of work during the wedding day and related planning tasks. It is an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals who desire independence in their work hours combined with the prestige and rewarding experience of orchestrating some of the most important days in our clients’ lives. Joining Leigh & Co. Events means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to excellence in wedding planning and client satisfaction, with ample opportunities for growth alongside a dynamic and supportive company.
