The Lead Wedding Coordinator role at Leigh & Co. Events offers a unique, hands-on opportunity for driven individuals interested in wedding planning. This contract position allows for flexible scheduling, catering especially to planners based in Wisconsin eager to join for the 2026 wedding season and beyond. Compensation is project-based, with a payment of $350 for a total commitment of 10-12 hours per wedding. Training is provided to ensure coordinators are equipped with all necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to execute flawless events.

As a Lead Wedding Coordinator, the selected candidate will serve as the primary planner on-site, guiding couples through the critical phases of their wedding day. This position requires collaboration with client experience managers during the preparation process, as well as coordination with assistant planners on the day of the event. Primary responsibilities include attending final detail calls six weeks before the wedding to confirm logistics and expectations, leading the wedding rehearsal with participants to ensure understanding of timing and processes, and acting as the central on-site advocate for the couple. The coordinator will manage vendor interactions, oversee ceremony and reception setups, assist with placement of décor and event details, and maintain a calm, solutions-focused presence throughout the celebration.

The role demands excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the physical ability to manage the set-up and breakdown of event elements. Job Duties

  • attend final details call with clients approximately six weeks prior to the wedding to confirm logistics timeline and expectations
  • lead and facilitate the ceremony rehearsal on the day prior to the wedding ensuring all participants are confident in timing processional flow and key cues
  • serve as the primary advocate for the couple onsite maintaining a calm solutions-focused presence and supporting them through any challenges that arise
  • oversee ceremony and reception setup in alignment with the event design and day-of execution playbook
  • manage full wedding day execution from initial vendor arrival through final breakdown at the end of the evening
  • greet direct and act as the main point of contact for all vendors
  • communicate setup instructions clearly to vendors to ensure alignment with the event plan
  • coordinate and assist with placement of personal and event details including escort cards menus table numbers favors guest book and décor elements
  • support the wedding party and family members with guidance timing cues and any day-of needs
  • ensure all end-of-event items are properly packed and accounted for
  • proactively manage and resolve any issues or last-minute changes to maintain a smooth guest experience
