The role of Web & Digital Engineering Manager within the Technology Services Department offers a unique opportunity to lead and build innovative digital solutions that fundamentally transform how families connect with Forest Lawn online. This is a leadership position responsible for managing cross-functional teams comprising engineers, designers, and external partners to deliver customer-focused digital experiences across various platforms like Shopify and WordPress storefronts, marketing websites, and Salesforce Experience Cloud portals.

This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives on taking initiative, from conceptualizing ideas through to execution and ownership of outcomes. The engineering manager will mentor and inspire teams, drive Agile methodologies including managing ceremonies, capacity planning, and aligning efforts with organizational objectives and key results (OKRs). The position requires hands-on involvement in architecting scalable features, implementing DevOps best practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and ensuring high standards for code review, testing, and security compliance.

Key responsibilities also include managing hosting environments, uptime monitoring, optimizing website performance to maintain excellent Core Web Vitals, and collaborating closely with marketing teams to improve conversion rates, average order value, lifetime value, and customer acquisition cost through innovative digital experiences. The individual will be entrusted with the stewardship and integration of tracking technologies including Google Analytics 4, server-side tagging, and conversion APIs to provide accurate analytics and attribution insights.

Delivering secure Salesforce Experience Cloud portals with robust authentication, permissions, and case management functions is a significant component of the role. The manager will integrate external content and services seamlessly while enforcing best practices in web security, accessibility (aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA standards), SEO strategies, and privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.
