Job Description
The hiring establishment is a vibrant hotel restaurant-lounge known for its dynamic atmosphere and exceptional service quality. Situated within the hotel, the lounge offers guests a unique experience where they can enjoy a variety of fine beverages and delicious food. This establishment boasts a lively environment, enhanced by live jazz performances every Friday and Saturday night, which contributes to a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. This venue attracts both local customers and hotel guests seeking a memorable night out or a comfortable place to unwind. The Bartender-Server role here is crucial to maintaining the high standards of customer service and hospitality that the establishment is known for. Bartenders at this hotel restaurant-lounge are expected to have a deep understanding of a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, beers, and wines. They are responsible for preparing and serving beverages with precision and care, following standardized recipes and company proportions to ensure consistency and quality. This role demands both technical skill and an approachable personality, as bartenders are the face of the bar area and interact extensively with guests.
This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy setting and enjoy engaging with customers to enhance their overall experience. Bartenders in this role not only serve drinks but also manage orders, operate the POS system accurately, and handle payments. Additionally, they contribute to inventory management by ordering and requisitioning necessary supplies, which helps keep the bar well-stocked and operational. The job requires physical stamina since it entails prolonged periods of standing and walking, lifting stock occasionally up to 50 lbs, as well as bending and reaching. Candidates must be highly responsible, particularly regarding the service of alcoholic beverages—they must confirm guests' identification and adhere strictly to all company alcohol service policies to ensure safety and compliance.
Bartenders have the opportunity to earn outstanding tips, benefiting from the establishment's high-traffic clientele and vibrant weekend jazz nights. The role also involves cleaning and maintaining bar equipment and storage, as well as completing sales and inventory reports with accuracy. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, including weekend and holiday shifts, suitable for individuals looking to be part of a dynamic hospitality team. The preferred candidate will have at least one year of experience in a similar front-of-house bartender or server role within a high-volume bar or restaurant, with hotel experience considered a plus. Formal bartender education is also preferred, alongside basic math and computer skills to operate the POS system effectively. Overall, this role is an exciting opportunity for bartenders who want to grow their skills and work in an enjoyable, music-enhanced environment that values quality service and guest satisfaction.
