Job Description

Watermark BR is a distinguished hotel located in the heart of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, known for its rich history and unique architectural charm. As a proud member of Marriott's Autograph Collection, Watermark BR offers guests an experience that combines classic elegance with modern luxury. The hotel is housed in the iconic Old Louisiana National Bank building, the city’s first skyscraper built in 1927, featuring a remarkable mix of Art Deco and Greek Revival designs. Guests are treated to beautifully preserved murals by renowned New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, grand marble walls, a majestic staircase, and original bank vaults. Overlooking the Mississippi River, the hotel stands as a tribute to Baton Rouge's heritage and sophistication, blending historical elements from the 1920s through the 1960s with contemporary design in its public spaces and dining areas.

Watermark BR is currently seeking a full-time Room Attendant to join their dedicated housekeeping team. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the Room Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that the hotel is known for. This position involves ensuring that all guestrooms are clean, orderly, and welcoming for guests, while providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service in every interaction. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to exert medium work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and standing for the entire shift.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous hotel experience preferred. Responsibilities include thorough cleaning of guestrooms according to established standards, completing all pre-cleaning duties such as preparing guest supplies and housekeeping carts, removing trash and soiled linen, keeping hallways and public areas tidy and vacuumed, and restocking cleaning carts for the next day’s use. A professional demeanor and a strong service orientation with both guests and fellow employees are essential to this role. Maintaining high standards of personal appearance, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag, is also required.

Working at Watermark BR means becoming part of a team that values excellence, history, and community. The hotel offers excellent working conditions and competitive pay for their full-time position. Eligible team members enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and a team member assistance plan. Additional benefits such as discounted room programs, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan contribute to a supportive work environment designed to foster career growth and employee well-being.

At Watermark BR, employees are part of a unique and inspiring setting where every day offers the opportunity to contribute to the lasting legacy of one of Baton Rouge’s most beloved landmarks. This historic hotel stands out not only for its architecture and design but also for its commitment to top-tier service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Joining the team as a Room Attendant means playing a vital role in delivering the exceptional guest experience that has become Watermark BR’s hallmark.
