Job Description
The Watermark Baton Rouge is a distinguished hotel located in the heart of beautiful downtown Baton Rouge. This iconic establishment is a proud member of Marriott's Autograph Collection and is renowned for its unique blend of historical charm and modern luxury. Originally constructed in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first skyscraper, the building initially served as the headquarters for the Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank. Known informally as the Old Louisiana National Bank building, its architecture is a captivating mix of Art Deco and Greek Revival styles, making it one of the most eclectic and visually striking landmarks in downtown Baton Rouge. Guests and visitors are often impressed by the elegant murals painted by celebrated New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, which adorn the ceilings of the magnificent lobby and restaurant areas. The grand staircase and carved marble walls lead down to the original bank vaults that once safeguarded the treasures of Baton Rouge's elite. Towering above downtown and overlooking the Mississippi River, the Watermark Baton Rouge Hotel stands as a symbol of the city's rich history and refined elegance. The hotel’s public spaces and restaurants are thoughtfully designed to harmonize elements from the 1920s through the 1960s with contemporary design trends, creating an inviting and memorable environment for guests.
The Watermark Baton Rouge is currently seeking a full-time Outlet (Restaurant) Supervisor to join its dedicated Food & Beverage team. This role reports directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and is critical to ensuring the outstanding service standards across the hotel's dining facilities. The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the service operations in any of the hotel’s two dining venues: The Gregory, an upscale restaurant offering Southern cuisine with a sophisticated flair, and Milford’s on Third, which features New York City-style deli fare infused with Southern charm reminiscent of home cooking. This leadership role involves assisting the Food & Beverage Manager with essential functions such as staff training, motivation, and coaching to foster a productive and customer-focused work environment. Additionally, the supervisor must monitor expenses prudently and manage labor costs to maintain operational efficiency. A vital part of the position entails ensuring quality control of all menu offerings, with a keen eye on cleanliness and presentation to uphold the high standards expected by guests. This position requires a proactive leader who can thrive in a high-pressure, dynamic environment, effectively handle guest concerns, and contribute positively to the overall guest experience.
The Watermark Baton Rouge offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package to eligible team members, making it not only a prestigious place to work but also one that values its employees' well-being and growth. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to an iconic and historic hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Come join a team that is exactly like nothing else and be part of a legacy that marries the charm of the past with the promise of the future.
