Job Description
The Watermark Baton Rouge, located in beautiful downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a distinguished hotel that is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. This iconic property is celebrated for its unique blend of historic and modern design. Originally constructed in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first skyscraper and serving as the headquarters for Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank, the hotel is renowned for its eclectic architecture combining Art Deco and Greek Revival elements. The Watermark Baton Rouge stands as a tribute to the city's rich history and elegance, featuring stunning public spaces like carved marble walls, a grand staircase, and murals by celebrated New Orleans artist Angela Gregory. These artistic touches adorn the ceilings of the magnificent lobby and restaurant, preserving a sense of timeless beauty and cultural heritage. Offering breathtaking views of downtown Baton Rouge and the Mississippi River, the hotel provides guests a luxurious and memorable experience with its blend of 1920s through 1960s references woven seamlessly with modern design aesthetics.
The Watermark Baton Rouge is currently seeking a full-time Outlet Supervisor for its food and beverage department, reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional service standards across the hotel's dining outlets. The Outlet Supervisor plays a key role in the management and smooth operation of two distinctive dining facilities: The Gregory, an upscale restaurant noted for Southern cuisine, and Milford’s on Third, a deli inspired by New York City with Southern charm. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily service, assisting with staff training, motivation, and coaching, as well as monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs to maintain operational efficiency.
This position requires a dynamic individual who can maintain high-quality service, handle guest concerns promptly and effectively, and ensure compliance with hygiene and presentation standards across all menus. The Outlet Supervisor must be adept at managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills, both with guests and team members. They should also have a strong ability to analyze complex information and financial data, ensuring the outlet’s profitability and smooth functioning. This opportunity offers competitive pay, excellent working conditions, and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible team members, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, and retirement savings plans.
For candidates passionate about hospitality and looking to work in a unique hotel that is much more than just a place to stay, the Watermark Baton Rouge promises a fulfilling career. Being part of this historic landmark means contributing to a legacy of excellence and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Baton Rouge.
