Job Description

Watermark BR is an exceptional hotel located in the heart of beautiful downtown Baton Rouge. It is part of the prestigious Marriott Autograph Collection, renowned for its unique blend of historic charm and modern luxury. The hotel occupies a historic building originally constructed in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first skyscraper, making it a significant landmark in the city. The structure, once the headquarters for Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank, features an eclectic mix of Art Deco and Greek Revival architectural styles. Visitors and guests are greeted by magnificent murals painted by the celebrated New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, which adorn the ceilings of the grand lobby and restaurant areas. Carved marble walls and a grand staircase lead guests to the original bank vaults, adding a sense of history and exclusivity to the property. Towering above downtown Baton Rouge with panoramic views of the Mississippi River, Watermark BR offers an elegant and unique experience, blending elements from the 1920s through the 1960s with sophisticated modern design elements.

Watermark BR is currently seeking a part-time Bartender to join its dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Outlet Supervisor and/or Outlet Manager, the Bartender plays a critical role in delivering an outstanding guest experience by preparing and serving beverages in the bar area. This role requires complete setup and maintenance of the bar to ensure cleanliness, quality service, and efficient control over liquor inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for mixing and serving drinks, ensuring compliance with all state liquor laws, and assisting in maintaining beverage costs for the establishment. The Bartender will be attentive to guest satisfaction by providing exemplary service and will also be vigilant in monitoring alcohol consumption to avoid issues with intoxicated guests, reporting any concerns to management as needed.

Additionally, the Bartender will handle stock management duties such as completing beverage requisitions to maintain par levels using the bottle-for-bottle method, restocking and cleaning glassware, checking soda tanks, and preparing garnishes to complement crafted cocktails. Experience in a hotel or fine dining environment is highly valued as it equips the candidate with the aptitude for refined customer service and attention to detail that aligns with Watermark BR's elevated standards.

This is a tipped position offering competitive pay and flexible part-time hours suitable for individuals passionate about hospitality and cocktail craftsmanship. Working at Watermark BR comes with the benefit of being a part of a historic establishment rich with heritage and a culture that celebrates excellence and tradition. Eligible team members have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, disability plans, employee assistance resources, discounted room programs, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Watermark BR fosters an inclusive workplace environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and non-discrimination in all employment practices. This role is ideal for service-oriented individuals who thrive in vibrant, upscale settings and are eager to contribute to the unique guest experiences Watermark BR is known for.
