Job Description
Watermark BR is a distinctive hotel located in the heart of beautiful downtown Baton Rouge. As a proud member of the Marriott Autograph Collection, Watermark BR offers an unparalleled blend of historic charm and modern luxury. Originally constructed in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first "skyscraper," the iconic building served as the Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank headquarters for over half a century. Today, this landmark seamlessly combines Art Deco and Greek Revival architectural styles, creating an elegant and eclectic atmosphere that captures the city's rich cultural heritage. Visitors to Watermark BR experience a unique ambiance with preserved murals by celebrated New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, grand marble interiors, and an inspiring view of the Mississippi River from the towering structure. The hotel features beautifully restored public spaces and restaurants that blend the aesthetics of the 1920s through the 1960s with contemporary design elements. The team at Watermark BR is committed to offering outstanding service while honoring the city's storied past through every guest experience.
The role of Assistant Front Desk (Guest Services) Manager involves supporting the Guest Services Manager or Director of Rooms by delivering attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests from prior to arrival throughout their stay, striving to maximize room revenue and occupancy. This is a full-time position that requires leadership in managing front desk operations and serving as an essential liaison between guests and hotel services. The Assistant Front Desk Manager ensures that guest needs are met promptly while maintaining an organized and welcoming front office environment. Key responsibilities include taking accurate room reservations while adhering to rate-quoting policies, monitoring VIP and special guest requests, reviewing daily front office logs and trace files, and proficiently using the front desk computer system. This position also involves managing message, package, and mail delivery with professionalism. Familiarity with in-house group bookings and events is critical to support seamless guest experiences. Watermark BR values team members who show initiative, leadership, and a dedication to superior guest satisfaction. Candidates with prior supervisory experience in hotels or related hospitality fields will find this opportunity rewarding. The position offers competitive pay along with a full range of benefits, making it a stable and attractive career choice in the hospitality industry focused on excellence with a personal touch.
