Watermark BR, located in beautiful downtown Baton Rouge, is an iconic hotel that stands as a testament to the city’s rich history and architectural elegance. As a proud member of the Marriott Autograph Collection, Watermark BR offers a unique blend of classic design and modern luxury. Originally built in 1927 as Baton Rouge's first "skyscraper," this landmark building once served as the headquarters for Louisiana Trust & Savings Bank. Its eclectic architectural style combines elements of Art Deco and Greek Revival, setting it apart as one of the most fascinating structures in downtown Baton Rouge. The hotel features beautifully preserved murals by renowned New Orleans artist Angela Gregory, intricate carved marble walls, and a grand staircase leading down to original bank vaults, all of which contribute to its distinctive charm and historical significance. Towering over the Mississippi River, Watermark BR offers guests a luxurious and memorable experience amid an ambiance steeped in heritage and elegance.

We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Front Desk (Guest Services) Manager who will report directly to the Guest Services Manager / Director of Rooms. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Guest Services Manager in delivering exceptional, attentive, and courteous service to all guests from prior to their arrival throughout their entire stay. You will be instrumental in maximizing room revenue and occupancy through effective guest service management. The Assistant Front Desk Manager is responsible for ensuring all guest requests, especially those from VIP and special guests, are promptly met, maintaining the smooth operation of front desk functions, and overseeing the accurate handling of room reservations. Proficiency in the Front Desk computer system and maintaining clear communication through messages, packages, and mail delivery with timeliness and professionalism are essential. This position also includes supervising front desk activities, monitoring in-house groups, and reviewing daily reports such as the Front Office log and Trace File to maintain operational excellence. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required
  • College course work in related field helpful
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license from the applicable state

Job Duties

  • Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario
  • Monitor all VIP and special guest requests
  • Review Front Office log and Trace File daily
  • Fully comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system
  • Ensure logging and delivery of all messages, packages, and mail in a timely and professional manner
  • Be familiar with all in-house groups
  • Assist Guest Services Manager in managing daily guest service operations
