The role of Class B CDL Water Truck Driver at Zak Dirt, Inc. demands an experienced, dependable, and safety-conscious professional responsible for operating water trucks to support critical construction processes.   • Possession and maintenance of valid Class B CDL driver license
  • Good motor vehicle record to pass and maintain insurability guidelines
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT and FMCSA requirements including employment drug screening and DOT physical

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and take direction from supervisors regarding productions, safety, and best management practices
  • Ability to communicate and understand specific safety and skills training
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized with the ability to work independently and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to pass driving evaluation and work history verification
  • Experience driving in inclement weather conditions such as snow and rain, as well as occasional mountain driving
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • At least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a Class B CDL water truck on public roads and construction sites
  • Perform dust control activities on roads, stockpiles, excavation areas and work zones
  • Apply water to support soil conditioning and compaction operations
  • Load and unload water from approved sources while following environmental regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and crew members regarding project needs and site conditions
  • Assist with general labor duties when water truck operations are not required
  • Respond appropriately to changing site conditions and work assignments
  • Safely operate water truck while navigating traffic and jobsites in accordance with all federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Properly secure and inspect all loads and cargo prior to the start of a trip
  • Inspect trucks and trailers daily prior to and after operation for safety issues, repairs, fluid levels and wear and record results on daily inspection logs
  • Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and company-required certifications
  • Report any and all accidents involving driver, company equipment, and/or private property
  • Maintain work areas, tools and equipment in a neat, clean and organized manner
  • Expected to comply with all company policies and procedures and all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
