This position as a Forklift Operator is based in a new operation located in Laredo, Texas, offering a strategic opportunity to join a thriving team within this expanding facility. The role operates Monday to Friday, from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, with weekend and holiday work required occasionally. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse, performing duties such as loading and unloading trailers, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, and electronically scanning products using warehouse management systems. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with team members across shifts to ensure seamless operations. Candidates will play a key role in supporting the organization’s supply chain processes by accurately reading work orders, fulfilling requisitions, and recording production metrics.

Job Requirements
- Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Accept responsibility for own safety as well as the safety of others
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
- Ability to see and verbally communicate effectively
- Ability to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
- Willingness to work the specific schedule and location required
Job Qualifications
- No prior warehouse experience required but preferred
- Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (bilingual in Spanish and English preferred)
- Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
- Flexible to work overtime preferred
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Job Duties
- Loads and unloads trailers
- Move materials within the warehouse
- Complies with all safety requirements
- Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
- Communicate with associates from other shifts
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
