Staples is a leading provider of office supplies and solutions, recognized for its commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. As a prominent retail company with a strong focus on supply chain efficiency, Staples operates a world-class supply chain team dedicated to ensuring timely delivery of essential products to businesses and consumers alike. The company places a high emphasis on safety, inclusivity, and professional growth within its workforce, making it a preferred employer for individuals seeking stability and career advancement in the warehouse and logistics sector.
The Warehouse Associate role at Staples is a critical position within the supply chain operations, designed to support various warehouse functions to meet customer demands effectively. Working from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, associates can expect a dynamic work environment with roles that may include material handling equipment operation, warehouse porter duties, replenishment, receiving, returns processing, and shipping. Each role involves adherence to strict safety protocols and collaboration with team members to maintain a smooth workflow.
Warehouse Associates will be trained and possibly certified to operate essential material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move products weighing up to 100 pounds, and the capability to work at heights of up to 60 feet when necessary. Staples offers a competitive pay rate starting at $22.50 per hour, with opportunities to work additional overtime hours based on business needs, reflecting the company’s recognition of the importance of flexible and dedicated staff.
Safety in the workplace is a top priority for Staples, and Warehouse Associates are expected to uphold the company’s safety culture by following established procedures and maintaining clean, organized work areas. The role also encourages an inclusive approach, fostering strong professional relationships and effective communication internally and externally to resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during daily warehouse operations.
Staples values the diversity of its workforce and offers a supportive environment through associate-led Business Resource Groups and wellness programs aimed at enhancing both physical and mental health. Full-time associates are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including 112 hours of paid time off, seven observed paid holidays plus one floating holiday, company match for 401(k), online and retail discounts, and more. Additionally, new full-time employees receive a pair of work shoes after 60 days, emphasizing the company’s commitment to providing the necessary tools for success and safety in the warehouse.
This role is suitable for those with a minimum of three months of related warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Effective communication skills in English are essential, along with the ability to pass a drug screening and meet physical demands such as standing and walking 100% of the time. Being at least 18 years old is a mandatory requirement, ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety standards.
Joining Staples as a Warehouse Associate offers a robust opportunity to be part of a globally recognized brand with a focus on operational excellence, career growth, and a safe, inclusive work environment. This position is vital to Staples’ supply chain success as the company continues to deliver consistent and reliable service to its customers across multiple channels.
