Job Description

Straub Distributing Co., established in 1948 and located in Orange County, California, is one of the largest beer wholesalers within the Anheuser Busch (Budweiser) network in the United States. With a legacy spanning over seven decades, Straub Distributing prides itself on delivering world-class service for world-class beers. They have built a reputation for professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to quality, making them a notable leader in the beverage distribution industry. The company culture emphasizes taking initiative, having pride in one’s work, and enjoying a collaborative environment while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in operations.

The current opportunity is for a part-time Graveyard Warehouse Worker position that operates within a union environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, physically capable, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position involves working primarily during late night and early morning shifts, where employees will be responsible for efficiently feeding beverage cases into warehouse machinery and performing cleaning duties at the end of shifts. Given the physical demands of the job, candidates must be prepared to lift weights ranging from 20 to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand or walk for extended periods. There is also potential for forklift operation, adding a valuable skill component to the role.

This role offers part-time hours with shifts typically lasting between five to six hours, up to four days a week. Shift options include the second shift from 12:30 am to 5:30 am, as well as other possible shifts starting at 7 pm or varying start times for 8-hour shifts multiple days a week, which provide some flexibility based on operational needs. Pay begins at $20.00 per hour and increases to $21.79 after a probationary period of 660 hours, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding dedication and performance. While this is an entry-level opportunity, it acts as a gateway to full-time graveyard warehouse work within a thriving company.

The position requires strict adherence to safety procedures and physical fitness to meet the job’s demands, including climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching repetitively. Candidates must also be comfortable working at heights and have the stamina to withstand a fast-paced and physically intensive environment. Being a union role, joining the union and paying an initiation fee is mandatory, ensuring the employee receives benefits such as vacation and sick time accrual, and holiday pay. However, it is important to note that healthcare benefits are not included.

Additional perks include access to an on-site gym and employee discounts, promoting overall well-being and support for workers. Straub Distributing Co. maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding drug use, requiring all hires to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. This part-time role offers a unique combination of stability, growth potential, and a supportive work environment for individuals seeking to contribute to a respected industry leader during night hours.
