The role of a Warehouse Receiving Runner at Palmer Food Services is integral to the smooth operation of the warehouse and overall supply chain efficiency. This position involves collaborating closely with warehouse staff and receivers to ensure that incoming shipments are handled with care and stored accurately, maintaining both product quality and organizational standards. The Warehouse Receiving Runner is responsible for breaking down skids to facilitate efficient stock handling, transporting accepted products to designated storage locations, and maintaining clear, organized storage areas. This role requires the candidate to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of inventory.

The Warehouse Receiving Runner will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, receiving a competitive hourly wage between $17.00 and $19.00. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with proper lifting procedures
  • Computer knowledge with ability to adapt to warehouse software programs
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet
  • Ability to perform duties in freezer and cooler environments
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, sit, and operate warehouse equipment
  • Ability to use hands for handling and performing fine finger movements
  • Normal vision with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors
  • Fluent speech in English and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods
  • Must regularly lift and carry up to 100 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate reliability and strong teamwork by actively collaborating with colleagues, supporting team goals, and maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Breakdown skids as necessary to ensure that the stockers can clearly identify product and disperse it efficiently
  • Complete assigned maintenance areas daily
  • Be a reliable and cooperative team player, fill in as necessary and engage fully in the working environment
  • Assist the receiver by transporting accepted products to designated storage locations
  • Ensure accurate placement of received goods in accordance with warehouse organization and storage procedures
  • Handle products with care to prevent damage or contamination
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, as needed
  • Maintain clear and organized storage areas to optimize efficiency and accessibility
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines when handling perishable and non-perishable items
  • Communicate with receivers and warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate put-away of inventory
  • Assist in keeping the receiving dock clear and organized by promptly moving accepted shipments
  • Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues with received products to the receiver or supervisor
