Job Description
Staples is a leading provider of office products, solutions, and services, known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Operating as a major retailer and supplier in the office supply industry, Staples serves millions of customers both online and through its extensive network of physical stores across numerous locations. The company has built a reputation for reliability and innovation, continually meeting the needs of businesses, educational institutions, and individual consumers alike. Their strong focus on creating inclusive workplaces is reflected in their diverse associate-led Business Resource Groups, and they place high importance on safety, wellness, and employee development within a collaborative corporate culture.
Staples is currently seeking dedicated Warehouse Associates to join their World Class Supply Chain Team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring that essential office products are delivered accurately and efficiently to customers. This role involves working within various warehouse functions including bulk handling, material handling equipment operations, replenishment, receiving and putaway, returns processing, and shipping. Associates may be cross-trained to work in multiple areas to meet business needs, making the position dynamic and well-rounded.
Employees in this role are expected to operate equipment like forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks safely and responsibly, moving products weighing up to 100 pounds throughout the warehouse. The work environment includes physical tasks such as unloading trucks, stacking pallets, shrink-wrapping orders, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Safety is a top priority at Staples, and associates are responsible for upholding safety procedures and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.
This position offers a competitive pay rate of $24.00 per hour, which includes a $1.00 hourly shift differential for the 2:30pm to 8:00pm Monday through Friday shift. Staples provides opportunities for performance-based pay increases based on productivity achievements. Benefits for full-time associates are robust, including paid time off totaling 112 hours, paid holidays, a floating holiday, wellness programs, a company 401(k) match, and employee discounts both online and in retail settings. Additionally, new associates receive a pair of work shoes after 60 days of employment.
The ideal candidates will possess a willingness to be certified as Material Handling Equipment Operators and have the physical ability to work in a warehouse environment that experiences seasonal temperature variations. Critical interpersonal skills like collaboration and communication are emphasized to enhance problem solving and relationship-building among colleagues and customers. Staples values diversity and equal opportunity in employment practices, ensuring an inclusive setting where all qualified candidates have the chance to succeed and contribute to the company’s ongoing success.
