This role is for a Warehouse Associate within the Staples Supply Chain team, working during the night shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, Sunday through Thursday. The Warehouse Associate will be an essential part of the supply chain operation, responsible for various functions that ensure products are picked, moved, received, replenished, returned, and shipped efficiently. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $24.50 per hour, which includes a $2.00 per hour shift differential, and provides opportunities for full-time or part-time employment.

Warehouse Associates may work in several specialized areas including Warehouse Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operation, Warehouse Porter, Warehouse Replenishment, Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Warehouse Returns, and Shipping. Key responsibilities include operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move products up to 100 pounds safely within the warehouse. Additionally, associates may perform general cleaning, basic maintenance, manual unloading of trucks, stacking and shrink-wrapping customer orders, and verifying product accuracy for incoming and returned goods.

Safety is prioritized heavily in this role, where associates are expected to adopt and maintain safe work practices in all aspects of their job functions. Job Requirements

  • Minimum three months related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Ability to pass a legal drug screen
  • Basic English language proficiency
  • Ability to work additional hours and overtime as needed for full-time associates
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Ability to lift, push or pull boxes or merchandise weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
  • Must wear safety composite shoes
  • Ability to walk and stand 100 percent of the time
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability and willingness to become material handling equipment operator certified
  • Willingness to keep work area clean
  • Ability to work in warehouse conditions with seasonal temperature variations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers is helpful
  • Basic English language skills including verbal and written communication
  • Ability to adopt and maintain safe work practices
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse environments including seasonal temperature changes

Job Duties

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse safely
  • Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties inside and outside the facility
  • Manually unload trucks and palletize products, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies
  • Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets and load trucks manually
  • Match item quantities and descriptions to packing slips on returned items and tag returned products appropriately
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and promote a culture of safety
  • Adapt to various roles within the warehouse as needed, including both SC1 and SC2 positions
