Job Description

Staples is a leading provider in the office supply industry with a global footprint and a commitment to delivering essential products to customers through an efficient and reliable supply chain. As a major retailer dedicated to supporting businesses and individual consumers alike, Staples operates a world-class supply chain that ensures products are available when and where they are needed. This dedication to service excellence is backed by a culture that values safety, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the workplace. Staples is known for fostering an inclusive environment where every associate feels valued and empowered to contribute to their fullest potential. The company actively promotes diversity and inclusion through associate-led Business Resource Groups and a comprehensive benefits package that supports both physical and mental wellness. With competitive pay rates, opportunities for career advancement, and benefits for both part-time and full-time employees, Staples stands out as an employer of choice in the retail and logistics sector.

The role of a Warehouse Associate at Staples is a vital part of the Supply Chain Team. The position involves working varied shifts, with the specified shift being from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, Sunday through Thursday. Warehouse Associates may be assigned to one or more of several areas within the warehouse, including bulk material handling equipment operation, warehousing porter duties, replenishment, receiving, returns processing, and shipping. Responsibilities in these roles range from operating material handling equipment like forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks to manually unloading trucks and palletizing products. Each role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and practices. The associate will handle products weighing up to 100 pounds, often physically demanding tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling boxes or merchandise. Though material handling equipment operation is a key aspect, some tasks may also involve manual labor and keeping work areas clean.

Safety is paramount at Staples, and associates are expected to embrace a culture of safety, ensuring their own personal safety and the safety of their colleagues. The role requires the ability to work in conditions typical of a warehouse environment, including temperature variations. Staples provides training to become certified in handling material handling equipment, reflecting the company's commitment to associate development and safety compliance.

In addition to operational tasks, the role requires effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and external contacts to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to product handling and inventory. Associates are instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain, which directly impacts customer satisfaction. This role offers competitive pay at $24.00 per hour, which includes a $2.00 per hour shift differential, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, holiday schedules, company 401(k) matching, wellness programs, and employee discounts.

Staples is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture where diversity thrives naturally through respect and acceptance of all individuals. This Warehouse Associate position provides a dynamic, supportive work environment where employees can contribute meaningfully to the company's success while gaining valuable experience in warehouse operations and supply chain logistics.
