The role of Warehouse & Delivery in Syracuse, NY, is a vital position working Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with occasional weekend and on-call duties as required. This position offers an hourly wage starting at $24.00, with pay determined by qualifications, skills, experience, and location. The Warehouse & Delivery professional will lead the warehouse team to efficiently execute daily operations, including inspecting and loading caskets for delivery, unloading inbound trailers, scheduling maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, organization, and inventory accuracy. This role requires effective communication with customers and internal teams to maintain excellent service and support the sales force in building customer relationships.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to manage and lead warehouse operations using principles such as LEAN or Continuous Improvement (CI), possess intermediate computer and customer service skills, and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities through root cause analysis. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and occasionally over 100 lbs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to train, manage, lead, and understand LEAN or Continuous Improvement principles and activities in a logistics environment
- Intermediate computer skills

- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and apply appropriate countermeasures to correct anomalies

- Ability to lift and/or move miscellaneous equipment and product weighing up to 50 lbs frequently and over 100 lbs occasionally

Job Duties
- Work alongside the supervisor to run day to day warehouse operation in the most efficient manner possible, leading the warehouse team in daily activities such as inspecting and loading caskets for daily delivery, unloading inbound trailers on scheduled days
- Monitor and coordinate with the supervisor to schedule maintenance of warehouse equipment and schedule repairs if necessary
- Effectively communicate with customers and support personnel to provide excellent service
- Maintain current customer base by providing excellent customer service, including building synergy with local sales force
- Assist with adherence to governmental regulations and company policies and procedures
- Maintain high standards of safety, organization, and inventory accuracy
- Perform other duties as assigned
