The Warehouse Floor Technician role at KBS is a full-time, permanent position dedicated to maintaining safety and cleanliness in warehouse environments. This role operates in fast-paced settings where safety and efficiency are priorities, making a significant impact by ensuring floors and surrounding spaces are maintained to high standards. The position offers varying schedules including days and nights with weekend shifts. The starting pay is $19.50 per hour. The Warehouse Floor Technician performs essential floor care tasks including spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, and floor maintenance operations such as strip/wax, scrub/recoat, and seal/grout treatments. They use appropriate equipment and chemicals to clean and repair both carpeted and non-carpeted areas.

Additional responsibilities include cleaning floors and stairways through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, moving large furniture safely, ensuring janitor closets are organized, and securing building doors and windows. Technicians also follow manufacturers’ instructions for chemical preparation and equipment use, report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors, and adhere strictly to company policies and procedures. Preferred candidates bring at least one year of prior floor care experience and the ability to operate janitorial tools and equipment. This role is critical in upholding the safety and presentation standards of KBS client facilities and requires physical capabilities such as lifting and manual dexterity.

Job Requirements

  • Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
  • Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents
  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  • Use KBSPresence mobile timekeeping app on personal mobile device for work hours, attendance, training, and employment information

Job Qualifications

  • One year of prior floor care experience preferred
  • Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, strip/wax, scrub/recoat, seal/grout, etc.
  • Scrub, shine, clean, and repair carpeted and non-carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals
  • Clean floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Move large furniture and objects when necessary, and follow safety guidelines to prevent injury to themselves and others
  • Keep janitor closet neat, clean, and organized
  • Follow the manufacturer's specifications for preparing chemicals and using the equipment
  • Ensure building doors and windows are secure and locked
  • Report to supervisor needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
