The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing and assisting with a variety of maintenance functions related to buildings, equipment, and grounds. This position ensures that the facility and its equipment operate efficiently and safely through regular preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance. The role is structured within a flexible work schedule from Sunday to Wednesday, 11:00 am to 9:30 pm, with a competitive pay range of $21.50 to $25.80 per hour depending on relevant experience.\n\nThe Maintenance Technician must be proficient in understanding and complying with safety regulations including EPA and OSHA standards. They will utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track and complete maintenance tasks accurately and on time. Attention to safety is paramount; technicians will be expected to report any unsafe equipment or conditions immediately, take corrective actions, and contribute suggestions for safety and equipment improvements. Additionally, the technician will operate equipment safely, maintain cleanliness and order within the work area, and may be required to operate Material Handling Equipment if properly trained and certified. This position is critical in supporting the operational integrity of BJ's Wholesale Club facilities and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all team members and customers.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests
Ability to use basic hand tools
Basic knowledge of general construction, plumbing, electric, and hydraulic systems
Able to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to read and understand label data
Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork with or without corrective lenses
Ability to take directions using a headset selection system
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
Ability to tolerate and work in confined spaces
Ability to perform pre-shift stretching routine
Must be able to pass respirator fit test and wear respirator and SCBA if required
Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat frequently in refrigerated warehouse
Able to grasp, reach, push or pull frequently
Ability to use hand-eye coordination to operate forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment safely
Able to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE
Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures including freezing conditions
Ability to work in noisy warehouse environment
Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods
Ability to wear appropriate PPE including steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, insulated clothing
Ability to physically handle food allergens safely
Ability to utilize job equipment safely after training

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
Warehouse experience preferred
Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred

Job Duties

Ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely
Understand and comply with safety management, EPA and OSHA policies, procedures, and programs
Use data from Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to complete timely preventative maintenance, repairs, and record keeping
Ensure all paperwork is accurate, completed on time, and neat
Interact effectively and respectfully even in difficult situations

Safely operate and maintain equipment
Report unsafe equipment, conditions, and behaviors immediately
Take immediate action to correct safety issues
Treat building and equipment with respect and report safety concerns

Support sanitation by keeping work areas clean and neat
Operate Material Handling Equipment if trained and certified
Follow lockout/tagout and permit procedures
