The Catering Equipment and Commissary Handler role at Atlas Air Worldwide is integral to the seamless handling and processing of catering supplies and equipment for the airline’s operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all commissary and catering materials are received, inventoried, shipped, and maintained according to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. From preplanning catering supplies based on aircraft rotations to performing detailed audits on meals and equipment to ensure operational accuracy, this role demands meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality execution. The handler facilitates coordination with catering vendors and downline stations, adjusts inventory as needed, and actively communicates any issues or shortages that might affect operational timelines. Daily responsibilities also include warehouse upkeep, cleaning, and operating forklifts to move materials safely within the facilities.

This position suits professionals with strong organizational skills, experience in inventory or warehousing, and a familiarity with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in inventory, warehousing, distribution, or related functions required
  • 2 years or more of forklift experience preferred
  • Previous airline experience preferred
  • Previous cycle counting and inventory reconciling experience preferred
  • Attend and pass required trainings for recurrent, refreshment or re certification revalidation trainings
  • Acquire all identification badges required for the position, control the expiration and renewal
  • Must have strong familiarity with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Available to work flexible hours as the operation requires including but not limited to night shift, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
  • Ability to travel as required supporting operational needs
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass ten year background check and obtain airport security badge
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of moderately heavy weight objects up to 70 pounds
  • Controlling or driving materials handling equipment in a congested warehouse environment
  • Occasional driving through city traffic to make pick-ups and deliveries, or conduct field inventories
  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible to adapt to a fast paced work environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Receiving, binning, shipping and issuing of supplies and equipment
  • Preplan commissary and catering supplies based on aircraft rotations
  • Conduct inventory checks at catering vendor and on aircraft
  • Verify accurate and operable catering equipment is on each flight
  • Ensure proper inventory is prepared and delivered to downline caterers
  • Communicate any inventory or planning deficiencies, tracking and monitoring performance
  • Identify and requisition needed catering equipment repairs
