Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products. The company is recognized as one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products and a key provider of ammonia products and process chemicals. With a workforce of approximately 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture focused on safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, Airgas benefits from the global reach of its parent company, which operates in 60 countries with about 66,500 employees, serving more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide. Airgas prides itself on promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace that values the unique perspectives and backgrounds of its employees, customers, and community stakeholders.

Joining Airgas means becoming part of a supportive and organized environment that values collaboration, safety, and personal growth. The company is currently hiring a Warehouse Associate/Relief Driver position based in Wichita, KS, within its West retail shop location. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive hourly wage of $30, with quarterly bonus potential. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm, providing a consistent schedule for employees.

The Warehouse Associate/Relief Driver role at Airgas is designed for individuals who excel in managing essential cylinder inventory and operating specialized warehouse equipment. This position involves hands-on tasks including loading and unloading compressed gas cylinders, managing high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders, and preparing cryogenic vessels for filling. The role requires operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and various warehouse tools safely and efficiently.

As a vital member of the Airgas team, the Warehouse Associate will also conduct thorough inventory checks to monitor cylinder quantities and styles while assisting with overall inventory management. Ensuring safety and compliance with government and company standards when handling hazardous materials and cylinder gases is a critical aspect of the job. Vehicle maintenance responsibilities include performing detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety equipment is functioning correctly.

Customer service and relationship building are important facets of this role. The Warehouse Associate/Relief Driver will maintain positive interactions with local and regional business partners, addressing service inquiries or complaints with professionalism and care. Additionally, maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly warehouse environment is part of daily responsibilities.

Airgas emphasizes learning and development, offering guided training and supporting employees to fulfill their potential while contributing to an inclusive company culture. Employees benefit from comprehensive family medical plans, paid parental leave, future security through a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, tuition assistance, and more. Benefits start after just 30 days of employment, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting employees from their first month onward.

This opportunity is well-suited for candidates with a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License and Hazmat and Airbrake certifications, who are capable of performing physical tasks and operate safely under workplace pressures.
