Forward Air is a premier provider of ground transportation and logistics services specializing in the North American air freight and expedited LTL market. Established in 1990, Forward Air has built a reputation for delivering fast, reliable, and cost-effective shipping solutions that cater to diverse customer needs across various industries. The company is known for offering surface shipping on an accelerated 'time-definite' basis, providing an alternative to air transportation without sacrificing the time-sensitive nature of cargo delivery. With a vast network featuring over 90 facilities near major U.S. and Canadian airports, 12 regional sort centers, and more than 300 secondary airport points, Forward Air prides itself on its broad logistical reach and ability to meet complex supply chain demands. Its diversified offerings include services like full truckload operations and final-mile delivery through its Airline Logistics program and Complete Cartage. Forward Air combines direct partnerships with owner-operators and surface transportation providers, designed to maximize cost savings and enhance service quality. This structure places Forward Air among the leading logistics solutions providers, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and innovation. Being ranked 3rd in Newsweek's 2022 America's Most Trustworthy Companies highlights Forward Air's commitment to integrity and trustworthiness within the industry.
The Warehouse Production Lead role at Forward Air is a pivotal position within the B2B and Transfer packing departments, ensuring that all packing processes meet stringent quality standards and client expectations. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and wish to contribute to the operational success of a highly regarded logistics company. The lead will offer day-to-day floor direction, assist staffing coordination efforts, and maintain the organization and cleanliness of the department. While this role does not encompass personnel management responsibilities such as scheduling or performance evaluation, it plays a vital role in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture, emphasizing safety, productivity, accuracy, and facility upkeep. A Warehouse Production Lead must effectively communicate with team members, motivate staff, support safety initiatives, monitor overtime and workforce utilization, and ensure proper availability and use of equipment and tools. Additionally, this role includes training support for new hires, identifying performance trends, and providing feedback for continuous process improvement. The schedule includes shifts Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 1:45 PM and Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, offering competitive compensation ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. The role offers opportunities for growth and development within a company that values commitment, teamwork, and excellence in service delivery, making it an ideal choice for professionals seeking stability and career progression in the logistics field.
