The role of Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver at S&S Tire is a dynamic and physically demanding position that plays a crucial role in the company’s operations. This position includes manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and handling tires that can weigh up to 150 pounds. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving shipments, verifying product accuracy, and maintaining organized inventory through proper packing, counting, and staging of tire orders based on a bin locator system. Operating equipment such as order pickers and pallet jacks safely and efficiently is also a significant part of the job. The role contributes directly to inventory control processes, including cycle counts and annual physical inventories, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and company policies at all times.

In addition to warehouse responsibilities, the Backup Driver aspect of the position requires a service-oriented mindset. The driver safely operates box trucks ranging from 16 to 28 feet in length for timely delivery of tire products to customers. Providing excellent customer service, performing routine vehicle maintenance checks, and maintaining detailed driver and vehicle logs are vital components of this role. The driver also collects payments for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis and reports potential sales leads to the Store Manager for follow-up, contributing to the company’s growth objectives.
