The role of Warehouse Associate and Non CDL Delivery Driver combines responsibilities essential to smooth warehouse operations and timely deliveries. As a Delivery Driver, the hiree will be tasked with transporting materials and products across the designated sales territory, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols and customer service excellence. They must be over 21 years old, with a valid driving license free of major infractions for the past seven years, capable of passing Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exams and drug screenings. This safety and regulatory compliance ensures that all deliveries not only arrive on time but also uphold road safety standards.

On the warehouse side, the associate will manage inventory logistics using an RF scanning system to stock, pull, and prepare materials for shipment or delivery. This entails precision in handling items, confirming shipment accuracy, and maintaining order within the warehouse environment. The job demands proficiency with equipment like forklifts, hand-trucks, and pallet jacks, emphasizing the necessity for both physical capability and operational skills.

Job Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no DWI or DUI
  • Must have a clean 7-year driving history with no DWI
  • Must be able to pass a pre employment DOT physical and drug screen
  • Must be comfortable walking and standing for more than 80 percent of the work day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to drive a sit down forklift

Job Qualifications

  • Must have at least one year of driving experience
  • Must have at least one year of sit down forklift experience
  • Must have at least one year of warehouse experience
  • Preferred to have 2-3 years of box truck driving experience
  • Preferred to have one year of materials handling experience
  • Preferred to have one year of RF scanner experience
  • Ability to read a map and follow directions to customer sites
  • Good knowledge of basic math and reading skills
  • Active listening skills to contribute to effective communication

Job Duties

  • Makes deliveries daily to customers in the sales territory in an efficient manner minimizing the time away from the warehouse while driving the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
  • Reports any mechanical issues with the delivery vehicle to the supervisor immediately
  • Delivers or routes materials to shipping or delivery area in the warehouse using work devices such as hand-trucks carts pallet jacks and forklifts
  • Examines pallet loads and package contents in order to compare with records such as manifests invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
  • Confers and corresponds with supervisors or sales representatives to resolve problems such as damages shortages and nonconformance specifications
  • Stock material equipment and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
  • Pull orders and stage material in shipping or delivery area in the warehouse using work devices such as hand-trucks carts pallet jacks and lift-trucks
  • General housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in warehouse
  • Perform other duties as assigned
