The Warehouse Associate, 2nd Shift, is a vital position focused on the accurate and safe handling of merchandise within our warehouse operations. This role involves the receiving, processing, and storage of inbound shipments, as well as the efficient distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and finished products across different areas of the warehouse. A great Warehouse Associate must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to maintain smooth and timely operations. Working primarily during the second shift, this role requires adaptability to meet shift schedules and the physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.
The responsibilities include unloading trucks, verifying shipments against purchase orders and bills of lading, interpreting customer and work orders, and ensuring proper documentation is maintained for all item movements within the warehouse. The associate will also prepare bills of lading, verify item quantities and destinations for shipments, and handle customer claims or lost shipment investigations. An understanding of company safety policies and the ability to adhere to strict safety standards is crucial for this position. The role also entails performing routine physical tasks such as moving heavy items, sorting products, and conducting inventory counts to identify discrepancies.
Besides technical warehouse duties, the associate is expected to deliver excellent customer service to both internal team members and external customers. This involves clear communication, professionalism, and confidentiality while upholding our company culture and values.
This position requires physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions including exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and fumes. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One-year previous warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to lift carry push or pull objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand walk and sit for extended periods
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to operate office equipment with hands
- Exposure to extreme temperatures noise and fumes
- Willingness to adhere to company safety standards and policies

Job Duties
- Unload trucks and accurately receive merchandise matching bills of lading to purchase orders
- Interpret customer orders work orders shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved gathered or distributed and maintain accurate documentation and records
- Move sort and identify materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas according to predetermined sequence
- Prepare bills of lading and check items to be shipped against work orders to confirm quantities destination and routing
- Trace lost shipments and customer claims of lost shipments and initiate proof of delivery documents
- Weigh and count items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformity to company standards
- Conduct daily counts of resale material and related ancillary products and report discrepancies
