The role we are offering is for a skilled Sushi Line Cook who will play a critical part in our kitchen team. Job Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Food preparation skills including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing
  • Proficiency in using knives for cutting and prepping food
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Ability to lift heavy objects such as pots, pans, and food supplies
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Certified food handler preferred
  • Proven experience as a line cook or sushi line cook
  • Knowledge of sushi techniques and authentic Japanese cuisine
  • Familiarity with various kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, salamanders, broilers, and fryers
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in fast-paced environments
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision in food preparation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to withstand long hours standing and working in hot, fast-paced kitchens
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ensure the store is neat, clean, and presentable at all times
  • Provide proper customer service as per company expectations
  • Fulfill the task list and follow schedule requirements timely and accurately
  • Prepare a wide variety of sushi dishes including appetizers, nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty rolls with precision
  • Ensure the highest quality and freshness of ingredients adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Demonstrate exceptional knife skills and proper techniques in fish and seafood handling, cutting, and slicing
  • Maintain a clean and organized sushi station including proper storage and rotation of ingredients
  • Work as part of the kitchen team coordinating and prioritizing orders for timely and accurate delivery
  • Collaborate with management to optimize inventory levels, control food costs, and maintain profitability
  • Assist with organizing and stocking clean dishes, utensils, and cookware
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment addressing potential hazards promptly
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations including waste disposal
  • Assist in other restaurant areas such as food preparation, plating, or general cleaning to support team success
