Sooner Station of Norman is currently seeking experienced full-time and part-time Wait Staff/Servers to join their team. This role is essential in providing an exceptional dining experience to senior residents by delivering courteous, timely, and attentive meal service while maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere in the dining area. The servers at Sooner Station contribute significantly to the residents' quality of life by ensuring each meal is enjoyable and tailored to their needs, embodying the community's high standards of care and hospitality.

The server's responsibilities encompass taking meal and beverage orders, serving food, assisting residents with menu selections, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining space. Candidates should be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, and should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage positively with residents, guests, and fellow team members.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous dining or hospitality experience preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift trays, dishes, and supplies up to 25-50 lbs
  • willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • comfort interacting closely with residents during meals
  • possible exposure to cleaning chemicals and food service equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous dining or hospitality experience preferred
  • enjoys working with seniors and providing excellent customer service
  • ability to interact professionally and courteously with residents, guests, and team members
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • demonstrates good judgment, time management, and communication skills
  • ability to balance team and individual responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve food in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
  • ensure residents and guests are satisfied with their meals and dining experience
  • maintain knowledge of daily specials, menus, and food items to assist residents with selections
  • set up, maintain, and clean dining room tables, side stations, and surrounding areas
  • follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
  • practice proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • assist with opening and closing duties, including completing assigned checklists
  • support orientation and training of new servers as needed
  • maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and hospitality
  • assist with dining room organization, flow, and supply placement
  • perform other duties as assigned
