Job Requirements
- Must maintain resident confidentiality at all times
- Must have effective communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers
- Position requires empathy for elderly
- Ability to interpret and explain menu
- Must be able to stand and walk for 100 percent of the workday
- Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs independently
- Able to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs independently
- Able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum three months previous experience waiting tables preferred
- Will train
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of three months experience waiting tables in hotel, restaurant, or club preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, families, supervisors, and peers
- Empathy for elderly individuals
- Ability to interpret and explain menu items
Job Duties
- Set tables and maintain workstations in proper order
- Take orders and provide courteous service
- Clear dishes during and after meal service
- Answer questions about menu items
- Assist with dishwashing and distribution of clean dishes
- Maintain high level of customer service for residents and guests
- Assist with setup and cleanup of catering events
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks
- Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
- Attend in-service training and education sessions
- Perform duties assigned by supervisor
- Adhere to all Carillon policies including HIPAA
