Job Description
Baywood Court is a dedicated not-for-profit senior living community located in the tranquil and convenient area of Castro Valley. Renowned for its commitment to the health, happiness, and dignity of seniors, Baywood Court offers a vibrant, active modern environment tailored to meet the unique needs of its residents. The community is designed to provide a supportive and engaging atmosphere where seniors can thrive during their most vulnerable times of need. As a reputable facility operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Baywood Court emphasizes comprehensive care and exceptional service to enhance the quality of life for its residents.
The available position is for a part-time Waitstaff role, catering to the important dining needs of the senior community. This role is crucial in ensuring that meal services run smoothly and residents receive the attentive care and respect they deserve during meal times. The part-time Waitstaff is scheduled from Monday to Friday, between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with the expectation of availability on holidays and weekends as required, acknowledging the 24/7 nature of the facility. The hourly pay rate for this position is competitive at $18.28, reflecting the value placed on the role within the community.
In this role, individuals will be engaged in various serving functions including order taking, food preparation, table setting, buffet management, serving meals, bussing tables, cleaning up, and maintaining the dining environment. Additionally, candidates will use POS computer systems to accurately enter and track meal orders, ensuring efficient and precise service. Beyond technical duties, the role demands a kind, service-minded attitude to positively impact the lives of senior residents, supporting their wellbeing and social experience. Applicants must be able to navigate the physical demands of this position, including standing or walking throughout work hours and handling tasks such as lifting, bending, and balancing.
Baywood Court is committed to inclusive hiring practices and requires all prospective employees to pass a comprehensive screening process including drug screening, physical examination with TB testing, and FBI and Department of Justice background checks. The organization welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and promotes equal employment opportunities, focusing on abilities to perform the job effectively.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to make a meaningful difference in a senior living environment without prior experience, as on-the-job training is provided. Those with a passion for serving seniors and working in a collaborative team environment will find this position rewarding. Baywood Court also offers significant benefits for part-time employees, such as up to four weeks of paid time off within the first year, major medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid life insurance plans, retirement savings plans with employer contribution, pet insurance, employee meal discounts, annual scholarships, and various employee engagement events. This comprehensive benefits package combined with a supportive work environment makes Baywood Court a desirable employer in the senior care industry.
