Job Description
This esteemed organization operates within the senior living community sector, providing comprehensive and compassionate services to elder residents in a supportive and safe environment. The company is dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors through personalized care and attentive service, ensuring that each resident's needs and preferences are respected and met in day-to-day activities. With a strong reputation for excellence in senior living, the establishment emphasizes the importance of staff training, community engagement, and adherence to safety and health standards to maintain an environment where seniors feel valued and secure. The culture of the company nurtures a collaborative team spirit, promoting servant leadership and adherence to core values that support both residents and employees alike.
The position being offered is that of a Dining Room Attendant, a key role that directly impacts the dining experience for the senior residents. This role involves providing prompt, pleasant, and efficient service in dining rooms and activity areas, emphasizing both hospitality and safety. The attendant is responsible not just for meeting dietary needs but also for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functional readiness of dining areas, ensuring that the environment is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times. Working in this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the daily lives of senior residents by facilitating enjoyable dining experiences while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the proper set-up of dining rooms, acquiring food and supplies in accordance with meal service directives, and distributing and storing clean dishes. Additionally, the attendant practices safe and sanitary food handling procedures, assists with food preparation, and performs various cleaning duties across kitchen, dining, serving, and storage areas. The role requires vigilance to identify and eliminate potential trip hazards, promoting resident safety in a highly attentive manner. Candidates must also be prepared to work flexibly, filling in for other dining or wait staff as needed, and to consistently adhere to infection control guidelines. The ability to remain safe and alert while taking ownership of personal and resident safety is critical for success.
In addition to operational duties, the attendant is expected to lead by example, demonstrating commitment to core company values and maintaining a passion for working with seniors. Participation in community meetings and life enrichment activities is encouraged to foster a sense of engagement and teamwork. Education and ongoing training, including compliance with HRA University courses, are integral to the role, ensuring that staff are well-informed and competent.
This position requires a high degree of patience, tact, and a cheerful demeanor, as well as effective communication skills to interact with management, associates, residents, their families, and external contacts. The ability to navigate and comply with regulatory requirements, such as OSHA and food-handling standards, is essential. Moreover, candidates must undergo a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse to ensure safety and trustworthiness, reflecting the company's commitment to a secure environment.
Overall, the Dining Room Attendant position is suited for individuals who are passionate about senior care, possess a service-oriented attitude, and are dedicated to contributing to a safe, hygienic, and uplifting dining experience in a respected senior living community. This role offers an enriching career path with opportunities for personal growth and professional development within a caring, values-driven company.
