Job Description
Our organization is a well-established senior living community dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for our residents. As a leader in senior care, we prioritize not only the health and wellbeing of our residents but also their overall happiness and satisfaction with everyday activities, including dining experiences. We operate with a strong commitment to service excellence, ensuring that all team members work together harmoniously to create a supportive, respectful, and engaging community for seniors. Our community values compassionate care, professionalism, and attention to detail, recognizing that these characteristics are essential in helping residents maintain dignity and independence while enjoying quality of life. We are currently hiring for a Dining Room Attendant position, a pivotal role within our team that ensures the delivery of superior dining service to our residents. This is a full-time position that offers competitive compensation and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
The Dining Room Attendant is primarily responsible for providing prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to all community residents visiting the dining rooms and associated activities. The role demands a high standard of cleanliness and organization of the dining areas and waitress stations to maintain an inviting atmosphere. The attendant must be vigilant to identify and mitigate any trip hazards or safety issues that could potentially affect our residents. Key responsibilities include maintaining personal hygiene and health standards while rigorously protecting the confidentiality of resident information. The attendant must provide a welcoming dining experience tailored to meet specific dietary needs when necessary, ensuring proper dining setups that exceed hospitality and service standards. Additionally, this role involves obtaining food and supplies for meal service under direction, distributing and storing clean dishes, and adhering to safe and sanitary food handling practices for food preparation, holding, and service. Assisting with food preparation, performing cleaning duties across several areas including dining rooms, kitchens, serving areas, cafeterias, and storerooms is essential. The job also requires mop floor maintenance and strict compliance with all safety, loss prevention procedures, universal precautions, and infection control guidelines. Flexibility to perform other duties or fill in for other dining room or wait staff is expected. A critical element of this position is the ability to work safely and attentively, demonstrating ownership for personal safety along with that of the residents. Any medication that may impair job performance must be disclosed as part of safety protocols.
Beyond the essential tasks, the Dining Room Attendant serves as a role model by exemplifying CORE values through servant leadership. A genuine passion for working with and around senior citizens is vital, as is participation in community meetings and life enrichment activities when possible. Completion of all required courses through HRA University is mandatory, along with regular attendance and reliable performance in the role. Part of the duty involves understanding procedures to report a missing person through the Safe Return program and knowing the steps for fire evacuation. Every associate plays a significant role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, reinforcing the community’s dedication to high standards of care and safety.
