Job Requirements

  • No previous experience required
  • Ability to work part-time including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the dining area for extended periods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to learn and participate in training
  • Previous experience in hospitality or food service is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • Maintain high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Address complaints or issues promptly and relay information to supervisor
  • Ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service periods and keep area clean
  • Operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • Work with staff from other departments during special events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
