Job Requirements

  • Prior waiter or waitress experience required
  • Customer service experience required
  • Open availability including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Compliance with company drug-free workplace policy
  • Ability to work part-time hours
  • Capacity to handle cash and maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to operate service equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Prior waiter or waitress experience
  • Experience in customer service
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Understanding of menu items, ingredients, and specialized diets
  • Ability to handle cash and tickets properly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • Advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests and preferences
  • Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and the ability to get along well with others
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Address complaints promptly and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • Ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • Work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
