The role of a Waiter/Waitress at Unidine is vital to the success of the culinary team and the overall dining experience of residents and guests. This position involves taking food and beverage orders, delivering meals promptly and professionally, and maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation. Serving in a senior living environment requires a compassionate approach, a thorough understanding of menu items including specialized diets and allergens, and excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with guests, kitchen staff, and other departments. The position offers flexible schedules with shifts primarily from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm or 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, which may vary and include rotating weekends.

Candidates are not required to have prior serving experience within senior living but such experience is preferred, and Unidine offers the willingness to train the right individuals. Pay ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, reflecting the value placed on skill, speed, and quality of service. Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when interacting with guests and staff
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
ensure dining room setup before and after service periods meets sanitation standards
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, and beverage machines
work with other departments during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
