Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in food service preferred
knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
excellent communication skills
reliable and punctual
ability to stand for long periods
flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
basic math skills
ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally
maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
accommodate reasonable requests and special dietary needs including allergens
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special accommodations
exhibit exceptional communication skills and collaborate well with others
remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and staff
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
maintain high sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
keep service areas clean and meet established sanitation standards
operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
perform other assigned duties
