Job Requirements

  • Prior server experience
  • availability to work full-time with varying days and hours

  • understanding of menu items and ingredients

  • ability to handle cash and follow proper cash-handling procedures

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable guest requests and note preferences including knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodation of special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
