Job Requirements

  • Previous five years of serving experience required
  • Ability to work a full time schedule with varying days and hours
  • Must be able to operate food service equipment safely
  • Must follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle personal information sensitively

Job Qualifications

  • Previous five years of serving experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to accommodate special dietary requests
  • Flexible and patient demeanor
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Takes food and beverage orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
  • Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • Advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • Accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • Communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • Exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • Remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information or complaints to supervisor
  • Ensures the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • Operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • Works with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
