We are currently hiring full-time waiters and waitresses to join our team at the Inova Conference Center, located at 3225 Gallows Road, Fairfax, VA. This role involves taking food and beverage orders and efficiently delivering them to dining guests while maintaining the highest standards of service and food safety. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.00 to $22.00 and is tailored for applicants with a solid serving experience of at least five years. Working hours may vary depending on business needs, offering flexibility and an opportunity to engage in a dynamic work environment.

As a waiter or waitress at FLIK Hospitality, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by promptly greeting customers, knowledgeable menu guidance, and ensuring the dining area is clean and inviting. Job Requirements

  • Previous five years of serving experience required
  • Ability to work a full time schedule with varying days and hours
  • Must be able to operate food service equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Takes food and beverage orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
  • Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • Advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • Accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • Communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • Exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • Remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information or complaints to supervisor
  • Ensures the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • Operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • Works with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
