Currently, Flik Independent School Dining is hiring for on-call Waiter/Waitress positions at The Fessenden School located at 250 Waltham Street, West Newton, MA 02465. The role is an on-call schedule, meaning days and hours may vary depending on business needs, with further details provided during the interview process. This position offers a competitive fixed pay rate of $25.00 per hour along with benefits such as free meals, uniforms, and laundering services available at selected locations.

The Waiter/Waitress role at FISD is crucial to the overall dining experience, requiring a balance of hospitality skills, menu knowledge, and attention to detail. Waitstaff are responsible for delivering food and beverage orders promptly and professionally while maintaining excellent communication between guests and kitchen staff. They greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently according to established service protocols, and accommodate any special requests or dietary needs by demonstrating knowledge of menu ingredients and allergens. The role demands maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards and ensuring the dining environment remains clean, safe, and inviting throughout service periods.

This position also involves the handling of cash and tickets responsibly, addressing guest concerns promptly, and cooperating with staff from other departments during events and functions. Waitstaff must show flexibility, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills, collaboratively enhancing the guest’s dining experience. Equipment operation including beverage machines, soup wells, coffee machines, telephones, and fire extinguishers is also part of the job duties.

Job Duties
