Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • possess or able to obtain valid alcohol servers permit
  • availability to work part-time seasonal shifts primarily from April to September
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain patient and flexible
  • strong knowledge of food and beverage menus and ingredients
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • experience in food service or hospitality is preferred
  • understanding of safe food handling and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special request accommodation
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • ensure that the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods and maintain area according to sanitation standards
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • work with staff from other departments during special events and perform other duties as assigned
