The compensation offered for this role ranges from $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, catering to those who meet the experience requirements and demonstrate professional serving capabilities.
The Waiter/Waitress role involves taking food and beverage orders, delivering these orders promptly, and interacting with guests to ensure satisfaction. Employees are expected to uphold safe food handling and sanitation standards while possessing detailed knowledge of menu items to assist guests effectively, including advising on food and drink combinations and accommodating dietary restrictions or allergies as needed. Communication skills are a key attribute, as team members coordinate with kitchen staff and other departments to meet guest needs and maintain an orderly dining environment.
Applicants must have prior serving experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver courteous and efficient customer service. The position requires flexibility and patience, particularly when addressing guest issues and working collaboratively with colleagues. Responsibilities also include managing cash handling, maintaining cleanliness, and preparing the dining area before and after service. The role occasionally requires operating equipment such as coffee machines or soda dispensers and supporting special events on campus.

Additionally, this opportunity reflects Compass Group's commitment to diversity and equal employment opportunities. They ensure fair treatment for all candidates irrespective of race, sex, age, disability, or other protected statuses, and provide reasonable accommodations where necessary. Although occasional temporary layoffs may occur due to campus schedules, employees may be required to work at alternate locations during breaks, reflecting the operational needs across academic cycles.
