The current opportunity is for a Part-Time Seasonal Waiter/Waitress position at Huntington Park. This role spans from April through September and revolves around event-based assignments. As a Waiter/Waitress in this dynamic setting, you will take on the responsibility of delivering outstanding customer service within suite and premium areas at Huntington Park. Your role is vital to creating memorable guest experiences by efficiently taking food and beverage orders, delivering items with professionalism, and maintaining high standards for safety and sanitation. You will serve as the main point of contact for guests, demonstrating detailed knowledge of menu items, advising on food and drink pairings, accommodating dietary restrictions, and addressing guest needs promptly and courteously.

Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with back-of-house staff to ensure seamless order execution. Maintaining communication, patience, and flexibility while interacting with guests and colleagues is paramount. Additionally, you will be entrusted with handling cash and tickets following proper procedures, managing the suite's set-up and cleanliness before and after service periods, and operating various equipment necessary for food service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work part-time on a seasonal basis from April to September
  • capable of standing for extended periods
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • must possess or be able to obtain a valid alcohol servers' permit
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to lift and carry trays and equipment as needed

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the suite or premium space
  • take food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service

  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests on appropriate food and drink pairings and accommodating dietary restrictions
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
  • address guest complaints promptly and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure suite or premium space is properly set up before and after service
  • operate equipment such as chafers, beverage machines, and coffee machines
  • work collaboratively with staff during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
