The Senate Dining Room, located at 2nd and D Streets Southwest in Washington, D.C., is seeking to hire a part-time Waiter/Waitress to join their esteemed team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about fine dining and customer service. The position involves welcoming guests warmly, taking accurate food and beverage orders, and delivering a superior dining experience while ensuring all safety and sanitation standards are met. Working from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm with a flexible schedule that varies by day, the role offers an hourly wage of $24.00. As a Waiter/Waitress at the Senate Dining Room, you will be expected to demonstrate expert knowledge of the menu, assist guests with special dietary requests, handle transactions securely, and maintain a clean and organized dining environment.

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests accordingly
communicate directly with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests
handle cash and tickets properly
promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
maintain confidentiality of personal or medical information shared
address complaints or issues promptly and escalate to supervisor
ensure dining room setup before and after service
operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
collaborate with other departments during special events
perform other duties as assigned
