- follow a predetermined menu to prepare top-notch food and pastries
- compile a daily report ensuring accuracy of transactions and meal planning
- understand elements that make up a meal to confirm their inclusion
- store food properly to prevent contamination and spoilage
- deliver food to patrons according to scheduled meal times and establishment policies
- apply and maintain culinary utensils especially blades
- ensure food items and beverages are prepared promptly
- enhance the visual appeal of meals through garnishing
- assist with sanitation of refrigeration units freezers and cooking and serving devices
- uphold all food safety requirements including hygiene handling procedures and storage protocols
- comply with uniform policies at all times
- communicate daily with manager to understand and plan the day’s menu
- monitor food storage and serving temperatures
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
- maintain hygiene by cleaning and disinfecting work areas including steam tables countertops and machinery
- perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping mopping and dishwashing
- collect garbage and maintain kitchen floor cleanliness
- perform additional duties as required including aiding other kitchen departments
